In college basketball, William Penn’s men travel to Cedar Rapids Wednesday night (1/5) to take on Mount Mercy. The fifth-ranked Statesmen come into the game with a 12-1 overall record and a 4-1 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. Statesmen Coach John Henry says his team came back from the Christmas break in good health.
“You’ve got to have depth all the time in college basketball. But with COVID, you never know when somebody’s going to be called into quarantine or isolation or whatever the heck all these words are…and just be missing some guys or some coaches. Everybody’s role is important this time of year in these times.”
Wednesday night’s William Penn’s men’s basketball game at Mount Mercy will tip off at 5:30pm.
Meanwhile, William Penn’s women’s basketball game at Mount Mercy scheduled for Wednesday has been cancelled because of coronavirus concerns. It will not be made up. The Statesmen women are now off until Saturday afternoon (1/8), when they host Missouri Valley.
