Monday (11/29) is the first night of boys’ high school basketball competition in Iowa. The Oskaloosa Indians open their 2021-22 season Tuesday night (11/30) at Fairfield. Osky is coming off a 2-19 season a year ago and Coach Brandon Lenhart says his team should be improved.
“We should do a pretty good job of guarding as a team. Defending as a team is going to be a strong point. I think finishing around the rim, getting to the paint….those are areas that I think we have really improved on. I think our shooting will be good if we continue to work it….making two people guard us and making great decisions and getting the ball where it needs to go.”
Oskaloosa’s boys return four starters: Keaton Flaherty, David Nelson, Waylon Bolibaugh and Carson Genskow. The Indians boys and girls open their season Tuesday night at Fairfield. You can hear Oskaloosa Indians basketball all season long on KBOE-FM. Tuesday night’s coverage starts at 6 with the girls’ game at 6:15 and the boys’ game around 7:40.
