It’s conference tournament time for area high school volleyball teams.  The Little Hawkeye Conference tournament will be held in Grinnell Thursday (10/14) starting at 4:30.  The eight teams will be split into two groups of four…with round robin play in each group.  After the pool play, the first place teams in each group will square off for the tournament title; the second place teams will meet for third place, and so on.  Oskaloosa is in a group with Newton, Norwalk and Dallas Center-Grimes.  The other group has Pella, Pella Christian, Grinnell and Indianola.

The South Iowa Cedar League also has finals in its conference tournament Thursday.  The gold division finals will be in Montezuma starting at 5.  This has the four teams that won their first round groups last Monday (10/11): Montezuma vs. North Mahaska and Belle Plaine against Colfax-Mingo, with the winners to meet for the conference title.  The silver division finals, featuring second place teams, will be at HLV with Sigourney against Lynnville-Sully and Iowa Valley against HLV, with the winners then squaring off.  And the bronze division finals will be at BGM with Tri-County against BGM and Keota versus English Valleys and then the winners meeting for the bronze title.  All of these SICL matchups start at 5:00.

And Twin Cedars will take on Ankeny Christian in the semifinals of the Bluegrass Conference tournament at 5:00 in Diagonal.

Other high school volleyball Thursday has PCM at South Hamilton, Knoxville hosting Winterset and EBF playing in a four team tournament at Mediapolis.
