The Oskaloosa High volleyball team opens its Little Hawkeye Conference season Tuesday night (8/31) with a home game against Dallas Center-Grimes. The Indians are off to a 6-0 start and are ranked fifth in the preseason Class 4A rankings by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Indians Coach Jennifer Comfort didn’t have to worry about replacing graduated seniors, because there were no seniors on last year’s team.
“True, but we still had a lot of areas that we needed to grow in. They had one year of varsity experience under their belt, but we still had a lot of things that we knew that they needed to work on and get better at. Because our potential is really high, it’s just taking care of the little things to close that gap between where we are and where we need to be.”
You can hear Oskaloosa take on Dallas Center-Grimes Tuesday night on KBOE-FM. Pregame coverage starts at 7 with the first serve around 7:15.
