Last year, Oskaloosa High School’s volleyball team was one game away from a berth at the State Tournament. The Indians have begun preseason practice with everyone returning from a team that went 21-8 in 2020. Oskaloosa Coach Jennifer Comfort says this year’s team has a key word for the season: purpose.
“It’s just a reminder that everything we have them do has a purpose and everything that we ask them to do has a purpose. And that purpose is to get a green banner (ED: teams that reach the State Tournament get a green banner from the IGHSAU). But this season ultimately is to get a green banner and beyond.”
The Osky volleyball team opens its season August 23 at a tournament in Carlisle. The Indians’ home opener will be Tuesday, August 31 against Dallas Center-Grimes. Remember, you can hear Oskaloosa Indians volleyball this season on KBOE-FM.
