Here’s the Iowa postseason honor roll for high school baseball for the season just ended. The Iowa Print Sportswriters Association has voted Sigourney outfielder Cade Molyneux to its Class 1A All-State second team. Knoxville outfielder Mike Hudson was named first team All-State in Class 3A, with Grinnell pitcher Brady Steward on the 3A All-State third team. And Ottumwa infielder Jesus Jaime is on the Class 4A All-State team with teammate Mitch Wood on the second team as an infielder and Bulldogs’ pitcher Colton McKinnon on the 4A All-State third team.
The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association has released its All-District teams for the season just ended. We’ll start with the Class 1A southeast district. First team honors went to North Mahaska pitcher Blake Readshaw, catcher Dylan Klinker and shortstop Sam Terpstra; Keota pitcher Colten Clarahan and outfielder Brady Duwa; Sigourney second baseman Levi Crawford, outfielder Cade Molyneux and utilityman Josh Mohr; Montezuma third baseman Cole Watts; Lynnville-Sully utilityman Corder Noun Harder and Twin Cedars utilityman Kade Dunkin. Second team 1A southeast district honors go to Sigourney pitcher Cade Streigle; Lynnville-Sully pitcher Connor Maston and utilityman Caleb Rea; Keota pitcher Carson Sprouse; Tri-County first baseman Dayton Pace; North Mahaska third baseman Ty Kelderman and Montezuma utilityman Eddie Burgess.
Three players from Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont are on the Class 2A all-southeast district team: catcher Zach Leonard and outfielder Jared McCrea are on the first team and utility player Thane Alexander is on the second team. PCM catcher Caleb Dunink is on the 2A all-central district first team.
Checking the Class 3A Central District: first team honors go to Grinnell pitcher Brady Steward, catcher Cole Johnson, third baseman Colin Gibson and utilityman Owen Coffman; Knoxville outfielder Mike Hudson and Pella catcher Nick DeJong. Second team 3A Central District honors go to Pella pitcher Mason Wittmer and utilityman Jason Knox; Newton outfielder Brandon Chance and Grinnell infielders Alex Smith and Isaiah Seck.
And Ottumwa is represented on the Class 4A South Central District first team by pitcher Colton McKinnon, shortstop Mitch Wood and third baseman Jesus Jaime. And second team honors went to Ottumwa pitcher Tanner Schark, catcher Adam Denniston and first baseman Trey Swartz.
