REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin has revealed that he is in the process of writing a memoir.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, REO Speedwagon’s lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist said the autobiography will probably be ready by next year.
The memoir, tentatively titled “Roll With the Changes: My Life Within and Without REO Speedwagon,” was nearly completed during a long break from touring forced by the pandemic.
“I will say that it is my story, but it’s almost as much Gary Richrath’s story as well – and the story of REO Speedwagon,” Cronin said, referring to the late REO guitarist. “It kind of follows our songs through my life and the history of the band.”
Cronin says he didn’t seek help from a ghostwriter for the process of writing the autobiography.
“I’ve written the whole thing myself; there’s no ghostwriter. It’s my story and my words,” he said. “As it turns out, books are much longer than songs. They take a little longer to finish. But I’m enjoying every step of the way.”
