Oskaloosa’s baseball team snapped a four game losing streak Monday (6/28) with a 6-4 victory over Pella Christian in Oskaloosa. The Indians scored four times in the first inning, with Landon Briggs’ two run double the big hit of that inning. Alex Christ and Marcus Fresquez each had two hits and an rbi for Oskaloosa. Wes Wilcox pitched four and a third innings for his first win of the year. Bennett Spronk had two hits and three rbi for Pella Christian; Micah DeHaan took the loss. Oskaloosa is now 4-18 overall and 3-14 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Indians play at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Tuesday night (6/29) at 7:30.
Switching to softball, Oskaloosa won its third in a row Monday, beating Pella Christian 6-0. Faith DeRonde pitched a three-hit shutout, striking out six…and also contributed three hits, including a home run. Presley Blommers also had three hits for the Indians, who are now 16-13 overall and 9-8 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Indians softball team plays at EBF Tuesday night at 7:30.
