Reitzler, Webster & Fullenkamp Score First Time Wins of The Season At Osky
Oskaloosa, Iowa: Bridgemark Insurance hosted School Staff Night at the races at the Southern Iowa Speedway on Wednesday night. The car count continues to grow as the season progresses and the action continues to be hotly contested.
The Mid State Machine Stock Car feature event saw Todd Reitzler of Grinnell make his way to victory lane for the first time in the 21 season. Reitzler took advantage of the pole position start and raced in the lead the entire distance for the win. Nathan Wood settled into second early in the main and was able to close on Reitzler on several occasions but was not able to pose a serious threat to the Grinnell hot shoe. Dustin Griffiths advanced from a third row start to take third at the checkers.
The Oskaloosa Quality Rental Sportmods also saw a first time winner as past track champion Blaine Webster scored his first win of the year. Webster was able to score the win over 2 time winner Maguire DeJong with veteran Osky driver Curtis VanDerwal rounding out the top three.
The Parker Tree Service Hobby Stocks feature event saw point leader Dustin Griffiths enhance his point lead with another feature win. Griffiths started the main event back in the 7th position and steadily worked to the front overtaking leader Jessie Williams as the laps wound down. Williams held off Aaron Martin at the finish to end a good night in second.
First timer to the Southern Iowa Speedway in 2021 in the Dirt N Asphalt Sport Compacts, Chuck Fullenkamp made the long tow from West Point pay off in a feature win. Fullenkamp held off Jeffrey Delonjay for the 10 lap main event win. Nathan Moody crossed under the checkers in third.
The Non-Win Sprint Cars continue to delight the fans as long time racer, Robert Bell is enjoying a dream season at Osky. Bell scored his fourth feature win of the season at Osky on Wednesday night finishing ahead of Doug Sylvester and AJ Johnson.
Next Wednesday, June 23rd will be Bill & Rays Bike Night at the races. Kids in attendance will have the opportunity to go home with a brand new bike. Hot laps for the five class racing program will get underway at 7:15 pm.
