Oskaloosa High’s softball team had a busy weekend. On Friday (6/4), the Indians blanked 6th ranked Norwalk 7-0 at Jay Harms Field as junior Faith DeRonde pitched a four-hitter with ten strikeouts. Then on Saturday (6/5) at the Oskaloosa Classic at Lacey Recreation Complex, the Indians defeated Chariton 10-6 as Faith DeRonde and Maleah Walker both homered. Then Ottumwa blanked Oskaloosa 15-0. The Indians are now 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Tonight, the Indians host Pella in a 5:30 doubleheader at Jay Harms Field.
Also at the Oskaloosa Classic on Saturday: EBF won both their games; 9-1 over Pella and 6-2 over Norwalk. Sigourney defeated Pella 4-0 and lost to West Burlington 10-0. North Mahaska lost to Newton 1-0 and Mount Vernon 6-0. Albia defeated Lynnville-Sully 4-3 and Ottumwa 10-6. Newton defeated Lynnville-Sully 1-0.
