Tom Petty’s estate has released a video for “You Saw Me Comin’,” a song that will be part of the upcoming release Finding Wildflowers (Alternate Versions), due out on April 16.
The video, directed by Joel Kazuo Knoernschild and Katie Malia, features images of desert highways, rocky ocean coastlines and snow-filled forests, reflecting the song’s message.
“There’s this kind of longing in the song, in the way that he wrote the chord structure, the melody and the lyrics,” Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench said about the song, which was recorded in 1992 but did not find a place on Wildflowers in 1994. “It’s wistful, and it would have been the perfect way to end the disc.”
The upcoming album will contain songs that were previously available only on the limited-edition Super Deluxe version of Wildflowers & All The Rest which came out in 2020.
The 16-track new record, which will be released as limited-edition gold vinyl and CD, will also be available on digital streaming platforms. A black-vinyl release will follow on May 7.
