Oskaloosa’s girls’ basketball team won its first Little Hawkeye Conference game in almost two years Friday night (12/11). The Indians defeated Newton 71-67 in Oskaloosa. Sophomore Presley Blommers scored 20 points, while junior Macie Krier added 16, including four three-point baskets. The last time Osky’s girls won a conference game was December 18, 2018, when they won at Norwalk. The Indians girls are now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Osky hosts PCM Tuesday night (12/15).
On the boys’ side, Newton defeated Oskaloosa 58-36. The Indians were without injured starters Keaton Flaherty and Charlie North. Senior Cale Holmberg had ten points to lead Oskaloosa in his first varsity start. The Indians boys are now 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference. Tuesday night, the Indians play at Washington.
