Round three of the Iowa high school football playoffs kicks off Friday night (10/30). In Class 1A, Sigourney-Keota puts its perfect 8-0 record on the line against Beckman Catholic of Dyersville. Cobras Coach Jared Jensen says Beckman has a talented quarterback, running back and wide receiver and his team’s defense will need to be ready.
“All three levels of defense are going to have to be on point. They’re (Beckman) big up front. I think with our speed, I think that will help us. Our defensive line will have to keep our linebackers clean. And if they can do that, our linebackers have done a great job so far this year making tackles. Our defensive backs have done a really good job of defending the pass. And it’s going to take all three levels to get the job done.”
The Sigourney-Keota game with Beckman Catholic kicks off at 7 Friday night in Sigourney. You can hear that game on KBOE-FM with pregame coverage at 6:45.
