They’re number three. Sigourney-Keota’s football team is ranked third in Class 1A in this week’s Associated Press high school football poll. The Cobras improved to 6-0 last Friday (10/2) with a 31-14 win over Mediapolis. Cobras Coach Jared Jensen complimented his team’s defense.
“The defense has just stepped up a ton. It’s gotten better every week and I think going into the playoffs we’re going to need a solid defense. If our offense can continue to keep par with what our defense is doing and given the opportunities the offense is given, hopefully we’ll be in pretty good shape.”
The Cobras wrap up the regular season Friday night (10/9) at Cardinal of Eldon. Remember, you can hear Sigourney-Keota football on KBOE-FM.
Other area teams in this week’s AP high school football poll, PCM is ranked third in Class 2A and Montezuma is fifth in 8-man.
