The Oskaloosa High football team looks to snap a three-game losing streak Friday night (10/2) when they travel to Clear Creek-Amana. Indians Coach Jake Jenkins says injuries and illness have made preparation tough this week.
“Out at practice this week, we had 24-25 guys suited up. And so, yeah, it’s injury and it’s illness and it’s frustrating because we’re low on numbers and it’s hard to have practices. But the guys have been showing up and doing a good job; they’ve been getting after it. So we’re trying to make the most out of a bad situation.”
Jenkins says the Indians will be without junior Will Schultz for the rest of the season. Schultz was carried off the field in last Friday’s (9/25) loss to Cedar Rapids Xavier with an injury to his right leg. Oskaloosa comes in with a 1-4 record, while Clear Creek-Amana is 3-2.
