Seven more Iowans died from coronavirus over the weekend. As of Sunday (9/20), the state’s death total from COVID-19 stands at 1265. There was also a sharp rise in positive tests for COVID-19 from the weekend, with another 1782 reported cases as of Sunday, bringing the pandemic total to 80,009. 30 new positive tests have been reported in Wapello County, with 28 in Jasper County, 20 in Marion County, 17 in Mahaska County, 16 in Poweshiek County, five in Monroe County and three new cases in Keokuk County. Also, there are 269 people in Iowa hospitalized with coronavirus, down 12 from Friday (9/18) and 73 in intensive care units, down 18 from Friday.
