The Oskaloosa High football team opens district play Friday night (9/11) when the Indians take on Benton Community in Williamsburg. Benton is a team the Indians have played just twice before—in the early 1990s. Oskaloosa offensive coordinator Brett Doud talks about lining up against someone new.
“I love it. I love playing different competition and not just always playing the same teams and knowing a lot of the same tendencies. You know, we prep for every game the same, we’re going to watch film and it doesn’t really matter, we’re going to prep the same and prepare and scout. It is kind of cool just to go against a different tradition and not know much about their tradition and then go play the game.”
Both teams are 1-1 on the season. Once again, Friday’s Oskaloosa/Benton Community game will be played at Williamsburg. Kickoff time is scheduled for 7:30. You can hear all the action on KMZN AM & FM with pregame coverage starting at 7:15.
