After two weeks of practice, the Oskaloosa High football team scrimmaged against ADM Friday night (8/21) in Adel. Indians Coach Jake Jenkins says his team will have to improve before this Friday’s season opener against Dike-New Hartford—a team that was ranked number one in the state in Class 1A after the 2019 regular season.
“I told the guys that they’re going to be good. They’re going to be as good as ADM or better. And that’s nothing against ADM. ADM was better than us tonight, for sure. Basically the point was, we’re not great right now, but that’s to be expected; it’s our scrimmage night and we did not perform as well as ADM did. And so we need to improve and we need to improve quickly. We have a lot to fix. I’m not saying that we can’t, but we have a long way to go before next Friday.”
The Indians host Dike-New Hartford Friday night (8/28) at 7:30 at Statesmen Community Stadium. Remember, you can hear Oskaloosa Indians football all season long on KMZN AM & FM and online at Radio KMZN dot com.
