Brian May said in an interview that there is still a chance of a collaboration with his friend Tony Iommi.
“I think there’s a chance,” the Queen guitarist told Guitar World when asked about the rumors of a collaboration.
“We do more talking than anything else, but we do a lot of talking. He is really my dearest friend in the business and has been for so many years. I could write books about Tony because he’s just the most… I don’t even know how to put it into words. You know, he’s a luminous human being is Tony, with a wonderful, kind nature and an incredible baffling sense of humor,” May added.
In the interview, in which May reflects on his heroes and friends, he describes Iommi as “the father of heavy metal.”
May was recently voted greatest rock guitarist in the world.
Iommi was part of Queen’s 1992 Freddie Mercury tribute concert. The Black Sabbath mastermind featured May on his self-titled solo album eight years later.
