Rock icon Neil Young has shared “Vacancy,” an unreleased song from Homegrown, the previously shelved 1975 album that will see the light of day on June 19 through Reprise Records.
“Who are you?/Where are you going to? I look in your eyes and I don’t know what’s there/You poison me with that long, vacant stare,” Young sings in “Vacancy.”
The song was recorded at Young’s Broken Arrow Ranch Studio in January 1975 and features Stan Szelest on Wurlitzer organ, Ben Keith on lap slide guitar, bassist Tim Drummond and Karl T. Himmel on drums.
Songs from the 12-track album were recorded between June 1974 and January 1975. The legendary Canadian rocker described it as “the unheard bridge between Harvest and Comes A Time.”
