Iowa’s high school baseball and softball teams can open their seasons Monday (6/15) after two weeks of preparation. Oskaloosa’s softball team seeks to return to the state tournament after a 25-16 record last season. Indians Coach Jay Harms says first the Indians have to get through a tough Little Hawkeye Conference schedule.
“The toughest four teams are going to be Indianola, Dallas Center-Grimes, us and Norwalk. Those are the four teams that have pretty much been up there in past years and those are the teams that have always had a little stronger pitching, stronger hitting.”
Oskaloosa is ranked fourth in the state in the preseason Class 4A softball poll. Monday night, the Indians open their 2020 season against Pella Christian. Coverage on KBOE-FM starts at 7:15 with the first pitch at 7:30.
