Bon Jovi announced on Monday that the band is cancelling its 18-date Bon Jovi 2020 tour due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic and would fully refund ticketholders.
“Due to the ongoing global pandemic, it is no longer feasible for Bon Jovi to tour this summer. Given these difficult times, we have made the decision to cancel the tour entirely,” the band said in a statement. “This will enable ticketholders to get refunds to help pay their bills or buy groceries.”
“These are trying times. You’ve always been there for us and we’ll always be there for you,” Bon Jovi added. “We look forward to seeing everyone again on tour when we can all safely be together. We will continue to send out news and updates on Bon Jovi touring in the weeks and months to come.”
A few days before the cancellation announcement, the band’s keyboardist David Bryan confirmed he was COVID-19 negative after contracting the virus five weeks ago.
The tour, with Bryan Adams as special guest, was originally scheduled to start on June 10 with a show in Tacoma, Washington.
After stops in major cities across the U.S. and Canada, including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston and Montreal, the tour was due to wrap with a two-night stint at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 27 and 28.
