Graham Nash performed several Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young classics in the latest installment of Rolling Stone’s “In My Room” series, sitting in his apartment in New York City.
“In My Room” is a new IGTV series that features top musicians preforming from their homes as they social-distance amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Nash played three tracks from CSNY’s Déjà Vu, a record that is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Graham began the show by saying, “I’m here at my home, as I hope all of you are. We are all in this together, this coronavirus mess that we’re in. I’d like to give a shout-out to all the medical people, all the postmen, all the postwomen, all the people that are risking their lives to make our lives better. And we need to help them, too…we need to stay home. We need to not spread this virus. Talking about being at home, why don’t I sing ‘Our House’ for you?”
He then played the piano, diving into the track that speaks about domestic bliss.
Nash then took to acoustic guitar to play “4 + 20,” a song written by Stephen Stills that “completely amazed” him when he heard it for the first time. “Why am I so alone?/Where is my woman, can I bring her home?” he sang.
The folk-rock legend signed off with “Teach Your Children,” just like the way he concludes his solo concerts. “We’re all in this together,” he said. “We will make it together. Stay at home, wash your hands, don’t spread the virus.”
Yola, John Fogerty and Brian Wilson were among the participants in earlier episodes of the “In My Room” series.
