William Penn’s basketball team has also reached the finals of the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament after beating MidAmerica Nazarene 89-75 Saturday night (3/7) in Oskaloosa. Junior Kevion Blaylock had 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Statesmen—a performance that Statesmen Coach John Henry says is almost commonplace for Blaylock.
“That’s what he does every night. It sounds absurd that 21 and 14 is a regular night, but he’s had about seven or eight nights this year. Two weeks ago, he had 18 and 18, 18 and 14 and 18 and 16 in three games in one week. He’s just a phenomenal player.”
Dexter Hood also had 21 points for the Statesmen, who are now 29-3 on the season. They’ll host Clarke for the Conference tournament title Tuesday night (3/10) at Penn Gymnasium.
