Frankly speaking, James Taylor has only a vague memory of meeting The Beatles in the late ’60s.
“Man, you know, everything’s kind of foggy back there, to tell you the truth,” the five-time Grammy winner said on Tuesday’s episode of “Live with Kelly & Ryan.”
“You know, it was just — I couldn’t believe it was happening, really,” he told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, referring to him signing a record deal with the Beatles’ Apple Records.
Taylor added, “You know, a year earlier, I had been in my room at at home sort of looking at the Sgt. Pepper’s cover and just imagining listening to all these songs. And then, it just seemed really surreal.”
Taylor, who appeared on “Live with Kelly & Ryan” to promote his new album, American Standard, is set to embark on a Canadian tour with Bonnie Raitt next month.
