Billy Joel’s Long Island home was broken into last weekend, and the burglar vandalized a dozen of his beloved motorcycles and a home office on the sprawling Oyster Bay property.
The burglary reportedly took place sometime between Saturday and Monday morning, when Joel was away performing at a concert at Madison Square Garden.
The robbers apparently entered the Piano Man’s house by breaking a glass door leading into the garage.
The 70-year-old singer-songwriter and pianist had owned “20th Century Cycles,” a local bike shop where a vast collection of vintage motorcycles are on display.
The police have launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from Joel.
The extent of the damage is yet to be assessed, but the burglar apparently did not steal anything.
