A new version of David Bowie’s “Baby Universal” has been released as the fourth installment of six unreleased and rare tracks from the Is It Any Wonder? EP.
Three songs from the EP have already been released. They are, “The Man Who Sold The World (ChangesNowBowie Version),” “I Can’t Read ’97,” and “Stay ’97”.
“Baby Universal” was co-written by Bowie and Reeves Gabrels. Initially recorded by Tin Machine, the song was released as the band’s penultimate single in October 1991.
The version now being released as “Baby Universal ’97” was re-recorded for the Earthling album.
“I thought ‘Baby Universal’ was a really good song and I don’t think it got heard. I didn’t really want that to happen to it, so I put it on this album… I think this version is very good,” Bowie once said about the track.
