Sting has made it clear that he doesn’t plan a biopic out of his new musical, “The Last Ship.”
The singer opened up about “The Last Ship,” which draws from his early years growing up in a grim town in Northern England, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Asked whether he would prefer “The Last Ship” be made into a movie in the line of Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, the English rock musician and actor replied, “Absolutely not.”
“I’m telling my story in an artistic way,” he told the entertainment magazine.
Asked whether “The Last Ship” could become a movie, Sting said, “It does have a filmic quality about it. So I’m hoping we’re in Hollywood, someone will come to the show and go, ‘Ah, this will make a good film.'”
