Former Fleetwood Mac frontman Lindsey Buckingham is set to play his first concert since he underwent emergency open-heart surgery in early 2019.
The singer announced that the performance will take place during the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee’s Tom Lee Park, between May 1 and May 3.
The operation reportedly damaged Buckingham’s vocal cords.
“While it is unclear if the damage is permanent, we are hopeful it is not,” his wife Kristen noted at the time before adding that all tours and shows would be “put on pause” while Buckingham recovered.
Buckingham made an appearance at his daughter’s high school graduation in May. He played Fleetwood Mac’s hit “Landslide” on the guitar but did not sing.
The star played a solo concert in December 2018 after Fleetwood Mac dismissed him over tension with Stevie Nicks.
He subsequently sued the band for “breach of fiduciary duty, breach of oral contract and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage.” They eventually settled the issue out of court.
