Bruce Springsteen’s official YouTube channel has shared a video that shows E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons’ last performance with The Boss.
Clemons and Springsteen played “Blue Christmas” in front of about 60 fans in the Asbury Park Carousel House on December 7, 2010.
As Rolling Stone reports, the concert consisted almost entirely of songs that didn’t make Bruce’s album, Darkness on the Edge of Town, but which later appeared on the box set The Promise.
The show featured Springsteen and the E Street Band joined by a horn section and guitarist David Lindley. The whole show was filmed by longtime Springsteen collaborator Thom Zimny.
However, the rendition of “Blue Christmas” wasn’t the last time that Clemons played in public. In May 2011, just two months before his death, Clemons played “Edge of Glory” with Lady Gaga during the “American Idol” finale.
