Eagles’ guitarist Joe Walsh discussed the success of his hit song “Rocky Mountain Way” with AC/DC’s Brian Johnson.

Walsh shared his view with Johnson during an interview on the AC/DC singer’s TV show, “Brian Johnson’s A Life on the Road,” which aired on AXS TV last Sunday.

Walsh acknowledged that the tremendous success of “Rocky Mountain Way” was instrumental in cementing his place in rock superstardom.

“I knew it was a good song,” Walsh explains. “You can feel it, ya know. People feel it, and they remember where they were the first time they heard it. That’s the connect that makes things special, and we chase it. We just plain chase it.”

Walsh also recalled his early days as a young artist coming up in the vibrant Southern California music scene, which led to the creation of some of the most influential bands of all time.

“This whole Southern California community of artists—before anybody made it—was full of creative energy,” Walsh said. “A bunch of groups came out of that… and one of ’em was The Eagles.”

“That was guys who got focused during a very artistically creative environment and period,” he added. “You can’t make that. That just happens.”
