Tuesday night (10/22), the Iowa high school volleyball playoffs began in Classes 1A and 2A. In 1A Region 8, North Mahaska defeated Sigourney three sets to one. The Warhawks won the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-17; Sigourney took the third set 25-23, before North Mahaska took the fourth set 25-17. Sigourney ends the year 7-19, while North Mahaska improves to 16-11 and will play WACO in Wayland Monday night (10/28).
Also in Class 1A Region 8, Keota swept Tri-County three sets to none. Keota will play at New London next Monday night. In Class 1A Region 4, Montezuma swept BGM and Lynnville-Sully swept Twin Cedars. Montezuma will host Lynnville-Sully next Monday night. In Class 2A Region 6, Danville eliminated Pekin in three straight sets; and in 2A Region 5, Pella Christian swept Interstate 35 3-0. The Eagles will play at Pleasantville next Monday night.
