Van Halen have announced plans to release a box set comprised of 13 singles the band released in Japan between 1978 and 1984.
Rhino will release the 7″ vinyl set on November 1. Two versions of The Japanese Singles 1978-1984 will be available: a black vinyl version and a limited edition version of 750 copies on red vinyl. Both versions have a suggested retail price of $129.98.
The material within The Japanese Singles comes from the band’s first six albums: Van Halen (1978), Van Halen II (1979), Women and Children First (1980), Fair Warning (1981), Diver Down (1982) and 1984 (1984).
Among the classic singles are “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love,” “Somebody Get Me a Doctor,” “And the Cradle Will Rock,” “Dancing in the Street,” “Panama” and “Jump.” A single edit of “Hot for Teacher,” originally issued exclusively in Japan, is also part of the set.
