Osky volleyball wins conference opener

In high school volleyball Tuesday night (9/3), Oskaloosa opened Little Hawkeye Conference play with a three set sweep at Grinnell: 25-18, 25-8 and 25-8.  Faith DeRonde had 12 kills and a block, while Jolie Yang served nine aces.  The Indians as a team served 14 aces.  Oskaloosa is now 3-2 overall on the season; the Indians play at a tournament Saturday (9/7) at Cedar Rapids Washington.

Other high school volleyball last night: Pella beat Pella Christian 3-2, EBF swept Clarke 3-0, Southeast Polk swept Ottumwa 3-0, Dallas Center-Grimes defeated Newton 3-0, Knoxville swept Chariton, Albia 3-0 over Centerville, Pekin swept Sigourney and Lynnville-Sully swept Baxter.
