David Bowie’s “VH1 Storytellers” concert special is set to be released on Vinyl for the first time on October 11, via Parlophone.
The live session, recorded on August 23, 1999 in New York City, featured songs like “Can’t Help Thinking About Me” and “Word On A Wing,” which Bowie hadn’t performed in 33 and 23 years, respectively.
“We were used to dealing with legendary musicians,” says “VH1 Storytellers” executive producer Bill Flanagan. “Still, landing David Bowie was more than a big booking. There’s no way to say this without being corny: It was an honor.”
“Bowie has a unique place in rock & roll,” Flanagan adds. “He is not only one of the most influential musicians of the era, but he does nothing unless he is fully committed.”
The live session’s recording was released on CD and DVD in 2009, but this is the first time a vinyl edition is being made.
In addition to all of the songs from the live session, the vinyl will also include four bonus tracks, “Survive,” “I Can’t Read,” “Always Crashing in the Same Car” and “If I’m Dreaming My Life.”
The two-LP vinyl’s track list:
