Neil Young has announced that his new album with Crazy Horse, titled Colorado, will be released in October.
This will be Young’s first collaborative album with his rock band since Psychedelic Pill came out in 2012.
The first track from the album, “Rainbow of Colors,” will be dropped later this month.
“Ralphie, Nils and I are all very happy to bring this song ‘Rainbow of Colors’ to you in all its ragged glory, as my original producer and life-long friend, the late David Briggs once said,” Young said on his website.
“10 new songs ranging from around 3 minutes to over 13 minutes, will be coming you way,” he added. “We hope you love this new album as much as we do.”
The LP will be accompanied by a documentary about the making of the album called Mountaintop Sessions.
“I don’t think a film about this subject with the openness and intensity we have captured has ever been seen,” according to Young.
The docu-film will be released in more than 100 theaters worldwide.
