A special screening of Easy Rider, to celebrate the cult movie’s 50th anniversary, will feature a live soundtrack of the movie.
Easy Rider, which stars Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson, will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a screening and concert at Manhattan’s Radio City Music Hall on September 20th.
The biker movie will be shown in sync with a live performance of the soundtrack by Steppenwolf’s John Kay and The Byrd’s Roger McGuinn.
Both Kay and McGuinn had songs featured in the film, including “Born to Be Wild,” “Wasn’t Born to Follow,” and “Ballad of Easy Rider.”
Several other musicians will also feature in musical direction by T-Bone Burnett.
The event will be produced by Live Nation, Dayglo Presents and Fonda himself, who co-wrote and produced the film. Tickets for the special screening will go on sale Friday, August 2, at noon ET.
