A documentary about the late Clarence Clemons, the longtime saxophonist with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, will be released this summer.
The DVD of the film, titled Clarence Clemons: Who Do I Think I Am? will be released on August 17 after a July theatrical run in select cities, Deadline reported.
The documentary, featuring interviews with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Nils Lofgren, Joe Walsh, and Jake Clemons, covers Clemons’ life in and out of music, with special attention given to the musician’s quest for spiritual understanding.
“The film started out as a personal journey to China in 2005,” says director Nick Mead.
“Clarence was a true Big Man,” the film’s producer Joe Amodei told Deadline. “His spirituality rose to the top of every interview we conducted.”
