Oskaloosa’s Carter Huyser picked up four gold medals at the Little Hawkeye Conference boys’ track meet Wednesday (5/1) in Newton. The senior won the 400 and 800 meter races, teamed up with Aaron Blom, Casey Hill and Brayden VanKampen to win the sprint medley relay, and then teamed up with VanKampen, Iszac Schultz and Hill to win the 4 by 400 meter relay. As a team, Oskaloosa’s boys’ finished fourth behind champions Pella; Grinnell was sixth, Pella Christian seventh and Newton eighth.
At the Little Hawkeye Conference girls’ track meet, Oskaloosa finished in sixth place. Emma Kelderman was conference champion in the 400 hurdles with a new personal best time of 1:05.31 seconds. Thursday (5/2), the Indian girls and Dallas Center-Grimes will face Norwalk in a triangular meet at Norwalk.
