William Penn University’s men’s basketball team is in Kansas City, looking to make another run for the NAIA Division 1 national championship. The Statesmen will play Vanguard of California in their first game Wednesday night (3/20). Statesmen Coach John Henry talks about his team going into the national tournament.
“We’ve got some things we need to work on. We’ve been inconsistent lately. We started 15-1 and since then, we’ve had a tough final month. But anything can happen in March. As long as you’re dancing, you’ve got a chance.”
The Statesmen are a sixth seed in their bracket…and come into the national tournament with a 21-11 record. It’s the fourth consecutive trip to the nationals for William Penn and their seventh in the last eight years.
