They say no one is perfect, but William Penn University pitcher Alec Myers was perfect for seven innings this past Saturday (3/16) against Lincoln, Illinois. The junior from Casper, Wyoming needed just 55 pitches to complete an 8-0 perfect game over Lincoln, allowing no hits, walks or base-runners while striking out six. As you might expect, Myers has been named Heart of America Conference baseball pitcher of the week.
Two members of William Penn’s women’s basketball team have been named Daktronics/NAIA Division I scholar-athletes. Senior Jenna Santi has a 3.9 grade point average as she’s majoring in sports management. And junior Kate Ylitalo has a 3.75 GPA and is majoring in biology. It’s Santi’s second scholar-athlete honor and Ylitalo’s first.
