Oskaloosa High’s boys’ and girls’ basketball games at Newton yesterday (1/24) were postponed because of the weather. The girls’ game will be made up Saturday (1/26) with the JV game at 3 and the Varsity at 4:30. The boys’ game will be made up on Tuesday, February 12 with ninth grade starting at 4:45pm, followed by junior varsity and then the Varsity game at 7:30.
Oskaloosa’s boys will be in action Saturday afternoon taking on Bishop Miege of Kansas City in the Quincy High School Shootout in Quincy, Illinois. We’ll have the game on KBOE-FM along with video on KBOEradio.com. Coverage starts at 3:45 with the tipoff at 4:00 tomorrow afternoon.
Here’s Friday’s (1/25) high school basketball schedule, weather permitting: Our Game of the Week on KMZN AM and FM has Montezuma at North Mahaska. The girls’ matchup should be a great one with Montezuma ranked third in the state in Class 1A girls and North Mahaska 12th. Montezuma’s boys are ranked second in the state in 1A boys. KMZN’s coverage starts at 5:45 with the pregame show, then the girls’ game at 6 and the boys’ game at 7:30.
Other boys and girls doubleheaders Friday: Pella at Norwalk, Pella Christian at Indianola, Dallas Center-Grimes at Grinnell, EBF at Chariton, Ottumwa at Des Moines Lincoln, Lynnville-Sully at HLV, Knoxville at Centerville, PCM at Greene County and Iowa Valley at Keota. The boys’ game with Tri-County at Sigourney may not take place because both schools are not in session today.
