High school basketball from Monday (1/14): Washington’s girls defeated Oskaloosa 54-32 in Oskaloosa. Halle Lyden had 19 points to lead the Demons; senior Marleigh Denburger had 14 to lead Oskaloosa. The Indians girls are back in action tonight (1/15) at Bondurant-Farrar.
Other girls high school basketball last night: Keota over Melcher-Dallas 54-35, Pella beat PCM 69-32 and Pekin over Davis County 69-32.
Boys basketball last night: Pella over PCM 74-61, Pekin beat Sigourney 54-33 and Pella Christian over West Marshall 58-44.
By the way, Oskaloosa is ranked third in this week’s Class 3A boys basketball poll from Associated Press. Pella is ranked fourth and Norwalk fifth. In Class 1A, Montezuma is ranked third.
