A former Oskaloosa police officer charged with domestic abuse will face jury later this spring. Janay Pritchett faces three misdemeanor counts, including Display or Use of a Weapon. On Thursday, a judge set Pritchett’s trial for April 9 in Montezuma. The case was moved out of Oskaloosa on a change of venue request.
Pritchett was arrested in May of last year after a fight with her girlfriend. According to court records, the girlfriend told investigators she and Pritchett were arguing. Pritchett then kicked her in the chest, pulled a pocketknife and cut her on the left side of her neck and the threatened to shoot her. The most serious charged is an aggravated misdemeanor. Pritchett could face up to two years in jail.
Her next scheduled court date is a March 7 pre-trial conference.
