Eleven William Penn football players earned all-conference recognition from the Heart of America Conference. Senior linebacker Mason Wisse of Oskaloosa earned his third first-team all-conference honor. Joining him on the first team defense are linemen Resean Coleman and Anthony Jackson and linebacker Jaidin Fletcher. Offensive lineman Hunter Dailey earned his second first team all-conference honor. Second team honors went to offensive lineman Haydn Stender, linebacker Clive Manuao and defensive back Detorien Rawlinson. And honorable mention went to fullback Ben Sherman, offensive lineman Sione Mafua and defensive lineman Jalan Cooper.
Speaking of awards, William Penn swept both of this week’s men’s and women’s basketball player of the week honors. Senior Marlon Alcindor got the men’s award after his school record 12 three-pointers Saturday against Evangel. And Senior Vashti Nwagbaraocha earned the women’s honor after averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds in the Statesmen’s two wins last week. Tonight (11/20), William Penn’s basketball teams play at Missouri Valley.
