The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont girls’ basketball team took care of their home-court advantage Tuesday night, defeating Van Buren, 48-38, in the Class 2A Region 7 Quarterfinals.
The Rockets got out to a hot start and coasted to the finish line without any real threat coming from the visiting Warriors.
EBF was led by senior Karlie Taylor. She finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, and 4 blocks. Torie Alexander chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds in the win.
The Rockets will now face #8 Central Decatur, who is the top seed in the Class 2A Region 7 Semis. CD is now 21-1 and are coming off a win over Martensdale-St. Marys Tuesday, 53-28. Their lone loss of the year came to Interstate 35 back on December 8th.
Coincidentally, the other Region 7 Semifinal pits I-35 against Panorama. Both of the semifinal games will be on Friday night at 7 PM.
