Let the voting begin. Polls are open until 9:00 tonight (11/6) on this Election Day. The big ticket item on the ballot is the Governor’s race, with incumbent Republican Kim Reynolds challenged by Democrat Fred Hubbell. You’ll also be voting on other state offices, such as Secretary of State, State Auditor, State Treasurer, Agriculture Secretary and Attorney General. There are also US House races. Here in House District 2, incumbent Democrat Dave Loebsack is opposed by Republican Christopher Peters. And there are elections for State Representative: in House District 79, Republican Dustin Hite, Democrat Samantha Keith and Libertarian Nicholas Ryan are looking to replace retiring Guy Vander Linden. And in District 80, Republican Holly Brink and Democrat Susan McDaniel are running to replace Larry Sheets, who is not running for another term. Closer to home, there are county board elections throughout the area and elections for township clerk and trustees. Once again, polls are open until 9:00 tonight. The No Coast Network will have election updates from Radio Iowa starting shortly after 9pm.
