The Iowa state cross country meet is Saturday (10/27) in Fort Dodge. Oskaloosa will have two runners competing. Senior Lauren Coon is running in her fourth consecutive state meet, which only one other runner has done in school history. Coon says: “Sienna DeJong my sophomore year. She was a senior and it’s pretty great. Coach has pushed us all four years and that’s great and I’m just excited to see what I can do this year at State.”
The Indians’ Carter Huyser is running at State for the third time. We asked what his goal is for the state meet.
“I want to be All-State this year, so I have to be in the top 15 runners. I want to run a PR (personal record). But really, I want to be in that top 15, cause that’s the biggest deal.”
Again, the state cross country meet is tomorrow in Fort Dodge.
