A rural Oskaloosa man is facing several charges after allegedly holding another man at gunpoint. Around 12:30 Sunday afternoon (10/14), Mahaska County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on 248th Street about a disturbance. Deputies later learned that a man was holding another man at gunpoint. When a Deputy arrived, the suspect had fled in a vehicle. A short time later, Sheriff’s Deputies and Oskaloosa Police found the vehicle in the 1800 block of A Avenue East. 18-year-old Jacob Michael Mason was taken into custody. During the traffic stop, law enforcement found a semi-automatic rifle, a loaded gun magazine, what’s believed to be meth and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Mason is charged with going armed with intent, assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia.
