The champion of Class 3A-District 7 high school football could be decided tonight (10/5) in Oskaloosa, when the 5-1 Indians take on 6-0 Pella. Both teams are 2-0 in district play and both appear to be head and shoulders above the other teams in the district. Oskaloosa Coach Jake Jenkins talks about the importance of tonight’s game.
“One of our big goals: we want to be a district champ. We want to be an automatic qualifier for the playoffs and we haven’t been a district champ in a few years. We were second a couple of years ago and third last year and so we want to be first, we want to be a district champ and have that opportunity to be a high seed in the playoffs. We know what’s on the line, they know what’s on the line. This will be the best opponent we’ve seen thus far this year and we will be best opponent they’ve seen thus far this year.”
